Details Behind Expensive Sheep Stolen From The Kenyatta Farm

Details are emerging that the Uhuru Kenyatta family invested millions of shillings in the sheep breed stolen on Monday

The ‘Dorper’ sheep was imported from South Africa and used to improve local sheep. It is a tough South African composite breed created by crossing Black-headed Persian ewes and Dorset Horn rams.

They are sold locally or imported to Saudi Arabia. They retail at Sh. 15000 in the export market

The invaders of Northlands were selling them at a paltry Sh.1000 to slight the Kenyatta family

Because of its low fat content, it is also good for mutton production, resulting in large exports.

Dorper sheep are recognized for gaining weight quickly, with some reaching 36 kilograms by the age of four months.
