Detectives attached to the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commision (EACC) have raided the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority offices in Industrial Area – By Gerald Gekara.

The early morning raid saw the confiscation of a barrage of documents and equipment which were later carted away.

Other items including computers and other machinery have also been taken away under tight security, in what was perceived to be a search warrant to find evidence of graft allegations against the parastatal.

KEMSA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jonah Manjari Mwangi who is out of office on suspension, is among numerous officials attached to the firm, that have been forced to appear to the EACC on various times to answer to alleged procurement flaws totalling to Ksh. 7.5 Billion.

KEMSA, according to EACC, is said to have items worth Ksh 7.8 billion, which the Ministry of Health has faulted for it only allocated a budget of Ksh 750 million.

The investigations saw the adverse mention of Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, and his Permanent Secretary Susan Mochache in the scandal.
