COLUMBUS, Ohio
The ex-husband of an Ohio woman killed alongside her husband last month waived extradition Monday, clearing the way for his return to Ohio to face double murder charges.
Michael David McKee, 39, a Chicago-based doctor, is charged with premeditated aggravated murder in the Dec. 30 shootings of his ex-wife, 39-year-old Monique Tepe, and her husband, Dr. Spencer Tepe, 37, in their Columbus home.

The couple’s two young children and dog were unharmed in the attack.
McKee appeared expressionless in a Winnebago County, Illinois, courtroom Monday, wearing a yellow jail jumpsuit and shackles. He waived his right to contest transfer during the hearing.
Judge Donald Shriver scheduled a Jan. 19 status hearing but did not specify when McKee would be sent to Franklin County, Ohio, for trial.
The arrest ends nearly two weeks of intense speculation surrounding a case that drew national attention due to its mysterious circumstances.
Investigators found no signs of forced entry, no murder weapon, and ruled out murder-suicide. Nothing was stolen from the home, deepening the mystery before McKee’s arrest on Saturday.
