DP Gachagua Eyes UDA Victory Sweep In By Elections

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed confidence that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will win all four elective seats up for grabs in Thursday’s by-elections.

Gachagua said on his social media pages that he is confident the party’s candidates have given their all during the campaigns, which officially end at 6 p.m.

He urged voters in Kandara, Garissa Township, Elgeyo-Marakwet, and Shelly Ward to turn out in large numbers and vote for UDA candidates.

“Our candidates, you put your best in the campaigns. We are confident that you will win and join us in delivering on the Kenya Kwanza Plan. I appeal to the electorate in these areas to come out in large numbers and vote UDA candidates,” Gachagua tweeted.

In the by-elections, UDA has fielded Kisang William Kipkemoi (Senator, Elgeyo Marakwet County), Njuguna Chege (MP Kandara Constituency), Barrow Dekow Mohamed (MP Garissa Township Constituency), and Abduljabar Saamiya Mohamed (Shella Ward -Lamu County).

The seats were declared vacant after Alice Wahome, Aden Duale and Kipchumba Murkomen resigned following their appointment into President William Ruto’s cabinet. Abduljabar Saamiya Mohamed is UDA candidate in Lamu County’s Shella Ward.

“We wish all our candidates in the by-elections the very best! God Bless Kenya,” Gachagua stated.
