Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took on his new role as the link between the national and county governments on Tuesday.
The DP met with Kisii Governor Simba Arati in his office at Harambee Annex, where they discussed delivering on the government’s devolution promise.
“As per my mandate of co-ordinating the Intergovernmental relations between the National and County Governments assigned by H.E President William Samoei Ruto, we delved into areas of partnership between the two levels of administration in creating new synergies for better service delivery,” Gachagua said after the meeting.
“Among other issues, we discussed realigning our common strategic priorities especially on the fully and partly devolved functions.”
According to Gachagua, devolution remains central to the Kenya Kwanza Administration in bringing back dignity to the lives of Kenyans irrespective of their party or political affiliations.
