Court Throws Out Petition To Sack DP Ruto

The High Court has dismissed a case seeking to remove Deputy President William Ruto from office for alleged misconduct and failure to perform official duties.

The Deputy President had raised a preliminary objection through his Lawyer Mr Elias Mutuma and in his ruling Justice Mrima has agreed that the process of removing a sitting DP is a political process reserved for Parliament hence not within the courts jurisdiction.

Justice Anthony Mrima ruled that the court lacks the authority to address the petitioner’s concerns.

Mr Michael Kirungia, has been directed to pay the case costs.
