DP Ruto Uganda drama ‘ploy to tame haters’

By Henry Kimoli

DP Ruto is NOT in trouble. 2022 is. Why is or was Ruto desperate to fly to Uganda? To CAPTURE political mileage, threatened by his invigorated competitors viz OKA, Raila and his boss Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto is the Deputy President of Kenya. He CANNOT leave his house without clearance by his security. He is guarded by elite forces same as those protecting Uhuru.

His travels are monitored by all intelligentsia agencies, local and foreign because he is a SECURITY concern for the region.
The DP knew he could not travel. But he chose to stage drama to confer himself and his wheelbarrow nation an opportunity to bash his boss.

There is NO evidence to suggest the DP and President do not exchange phone calls. The State has other ways of communicating without utilising open lines.

My take? Ruto is precipitating political noise to keep twitter and netizen headlines buzzing.

In the 90s, and on every 7th of July, Kenneth Matiba, Jaramongi Oginga, George Nthenge and Paul Muite attempted to enter Kamukunji ground to push for political reforms.

Word has it that they even influenced the police to break their demos and eat teargas to embarrass Moi and attract foreign headlines. And dollars.

Ruto? He knows crocodiles and lions and snakes are staking him out at all political corners. And so he has to make noise. And more bottoms up to remain politically relevant.

Ruto may not be the President in 2022. But Ruto will be an important political player for the rest of his life. 2022 is the year when tribal hegemony will end in Kenya. So Prepare for Rutolitics beyond 2022.

Reason? Ruto is politically where Raila was in 2002.
