Authorities at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have detained a 34-year-old man after forcing his way to the air side and finding himself in the wrong aircraft having missed his flight.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Okombo Farah, was scheduled to fly to Mombasa via Kenya Airways flight but failed to board on time.
The drama unfolded at approximately 9:00pm at Terminal 1D departures.
“He later forced entry through Gate 1 and entered the wrong aircraft when the gates were already closed,” read the police report.
The 34-year-old was booked in police custody for the offence of entering a restricted area.
