EA Safari Rally Classic Preparations Underway

Preparations are underway for this year’s East African Safari Classic Mini Rally, which will take place between December 9th and 11th.

The rally, which serves as a warm-up for the East African Safari Classic, will travel through four counties, beginning in Nakuru and concluding in Eldoret.

Joey Ghose, the chairman of the organizing committee, has warned rally fans and competitors that the event will be difficult and competitive this year as it travels to the most remote parts of the country.

“I must warn competitors that this is not your normal rally, it is going to be a really tough one that those who have rallied in the 70s and 80s will remember it is going into the deepest parts of Kenya where we have the toughest roads in the country,” Joey said.

Joey also stated that they have attempted to increase local driver participation by lowering some of the fees. This comes as they hope to bring the Rally back to the people in order to reclaim its place on Kenya’s motorsports map.

“This rally is a part of Kenya and we are trying to take it back to the people. We are trying to make it as affordable as possible especially for the local entrants so that we can revive and kick start rallying as it used to be a major part of African and Kenyan Motorsport.”

The 100 drivers who have confirmed their participation in this year’s edition include defending champion Baldev Chager, Ian Duncan, and Carl Tundo.
