Education CAS Quits To Focus On Mandera Seat

Written By John Mutiso  📝

Hassan Noor Hassan has resigned as the Chief Administrative Secretary of Education to vie for Mandera gubernatorial seat in the August 9 General Election.

“Today, after several years of public service in various capacities and after soul searching and listening to the people of Mandera, I have accepted their request to seek for the elective position as Governor of Mandera County in the 2022 General Elections,” Hassan said during a press briefing in Nairobi on Tuesday.

He will be seeking to succeed the current Ali Ibrahim Roba who has served as Mandera governor for two terms.

Hassan is relying on his experience as Cabinet Administrative Secretary, previously on the Ministry of Sport, Culture and Heritage and now as a CAS in Education to woo the people of Mandera.

“I have a wealth of public service experience, zeal, energy, servant leadership, commitment to social welfare development, resource mobilization and utilization, equity and human rights protection. I am an all-rounder person committed to community development,” he added.

Hassan will be vying for the seat on a ODM ticket therefore supporting the Rt. Hon. Raila Omollo Odinga for the presidential seat.

My preferred political party on which I will run for the governor’s position is the Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM) and my presidential candidate is the Rt. Hon. Raila Omollo Odinga.”

Today is the last day for them to quit the coveted posts as directed by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua in a circular he issued last month.
