The prime suspect in the murder of LGBTQ activist Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo aka Chiloba, Jacktone Odhiambo, has abandoned his bail application.
Odhiambo’s lawyer Mathai Maina informed the court during a mention of the murder case before High Court Judge Richard Nyakundi that they had agreed to suspend the bond application pending his trial.
” My lord, my client has decided to withdraw the bail application pending the hearing and determination of the matter. We would therefore request to mark our application as withdrawn.” submitted the Lawyer.
The murder case’s pre-trial conference and hearing have been set for February 23, 2023.
Odhiambo has denied murdering Chiloba between December 31, 2022, and January 3, 2023, in the Noble Breeze apartment in the Chebisas region of Moiben sub-county, Uasin Gishu.
