Eight Dead in Early Morning Blaze in Kibra’s Kichinjio Area

A tragic fire claimed the lives of at least eight people early Saturday morning in the Kichinjio area of Makina, located in Nairobi’s Kibra Sub-county.

The fire, which erupted around 5 a.m., swept through multiple homes in the tightly packed settlement. The origin of the blaze is still unclear.

Confirming the incident, Kibra Sub-county Police Commander Patricia Yegon stated that efforts are ongoing to identify the victims. The deceased have been taken to City Mortuary, where post-mortem examinations and formal identifications will be conducted.

Authorities have launched a full investigation to uncover the cause behind the fatal inferno.
