Rwanda Investigative Bureau (RIB) has arrested eight Kenyans who allegedly tried to hack Equity bank systems in Rwanda.
The eight were arrested alongside one Ugandan and three Rwandans.
RIB through twitter said that the 12 were arrested in the process of stealing money from clients’ accounts in the bank.
“The group came to Rwanda after successfully defrauding Equity Bank both in Kenya and Uganda.” Tweeted RIB
They further stated that the case file has been compiled and submitted to the Rwanda Prosecution for further management.
“RIB commends all those who shared information that led to the arrest of suspects and urge the public to remain vigilant and always share information that can be used to prevent crime,” said RIB.
