Detectives from Embu North Subcounty in Embu County have launched investigations into the gruesome murder of a man and his son in the Kiini – Mukangu area of Embu County.
According to witnesses, residents discovered a shallow grave at a homestead, and after digging, Luka Mbogo, 57, was discovered buried.
Initially, it was suspected that the deceased’s son, Eric Mbogo, 25, had committed the crime.
However, when detectives opened the door to gather more evidence, they discovered the son’s lifeless body in a pool of blood on his bed.
According to Embu North Subcounty Police Commander Abdullahi Adan, both of their necks were slit, indicating that the attackers used a panga and other crude weapons.
Embu North DCC William Owino, who addressed a crowd gathered to witness the heinous scene, pleaded with members of the public to provide information that will assist detectives in solving the mysterious deaths.
