End Of The Road For Trio Of Terror. Notorious Robbery Syndicate Brought Down in Daring Police Operation

Written by Kelly Were

A chilling reign of terror has come to a dramatic end after three notorious suspects, linked to a violent robbery at a prominent EPZ facility, were captured in a high-stakes police operation.

The suspects—Kelvin Baraza Andayi, alias Kevoo; Titus Mutuku Maingi, alias Tush; and Jack Wilshere Kimathi, alias Jack—were arrested following a meticulous investigation by detectives from Athi-River. The operation was launched after a brutal robbery on February 23, 2025, at Sanergy Limited Company EPZ in Kinanie.

According to police reports, the trio, alongside two yet-to-be-identified accomplices, descended on the facility armed with crude weapons. In a coordinated assault, they held staff hostage, subjected them to physical violence, and ransacked the premises. Among the stolen items were a refrigerator, microwave, generator, two lorry batteries, and two tractor batteries—all loaded into a getaway pickup truck.

The robbers vanished into the night, but their trail was far from cold. Athi-River detectives, employing advanced forensic techniques and surveillance, zeroed in on a rented safe house in Kamulu. It was there that the operation’s suspected mastermind, Kelvin Andayi, was arrested.

A search of Andayi’s hideout unearthed a Beretta pistol, multiple SIM cards, a mobile phone, and tactical clothing—items investigators say tie him directly to the crime scene.

Faced with mounting evidence, Andayi led police to Gimu in Athi-River, where his partners in crime—Maingi and Kimathi—were nabbed without incident.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed that the three suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue. Efforts to track down the remaining two fugitives are ongoing.

“The suspects believed they could operate with impunity, but we are proving that crime does not pay,” said a senior DCI officer involved in the operation. “This was a coordinated and ruthless robbery, but justice is catching up.”

The arrest brings a sigh of relief to local businesses and residents alike, who had grown increasingly wary after the daring February attack.

As the suspects await formal charges, the DCI has vowed to intensify operations targeting violent gangs operating within Machakos and surrounding counties.

End of the road indeed. For Kevoo, Tush, and Jack—it’s no longer a game of hide and seek, but a date with justice.
