Mancity Ready To ‘Fight Off’ Madrid From Haaland

Erling Haaland has been one of the best players in the world over the last 12 months, and he played a key role in Manchester City’s treble-winning season in 2022-23.

The 23-year-old only joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund last summer, but he has already achieved so much. Understandably, his performances have piqued the interest of many clubs, most notably Real Madrid.

Real Madrid were interested in signing Haaland before he joined Manchester City, and they may renew their interest next summer, when a release clause in the Norwegian’s contract reportedly becomes active.

Man City, on the other hand, have no intention of losing Haaland and, according to The Sun (via MD), are preparing to offer him a new contract. It would include a one-year extension and a 50% pay increase.

It remains to be seen whether Haaland will stay longer, despite his lack of desire to leave.

Still, Real Madrid will believe they can entice him to move to the Spanish capital next summer.
