Migori Youth took a major step towards winning the National Super League (NSL) title and sealing promotion after edging Kisumu All Stars 1-0 in a tightly contested clash at Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo, on Monday, June 1.
Syphas Otieno scored the decisive first-half goal to hand the league leaders all three points, strengthening their position at the summit and moving them within touching distance of promotion to the top flight.
The victory saw Migori Youth extend their lead at the top of the table to five points, following Mombasa United’s 1-0 defeat to Luanda Villa, leaving them needing just one more win to secure promotion and potentially the league title with two matches remaining.
In contrast, Mwatate United were relegated to Division One after handing out a walkover against MCF, confirming their drop from the National Super League.
