Ex-Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso Among 12 Shortlisted For Deputy IG Post

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has shortlisted 12 candidates for the position of the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service.

According to the NPSC, a total of thirty applications were received.

This is after the Commission advertised for the post on March 21, 2023, aiming to replace Edward Mbugua who retired after attaining the mandatory retirement age.

Among those shortlisted are acting Deputy IG Abdalla Komesha, former police spokesperson Bruno Shioso, David Kipkosgei, Dr. Vincent Makokha, David Rono and Jacinta Muthoni.

Others are Maurice Kiplagat, Tom Mboya, Rosemary Sipatan, Douglas Kanja, Gideon Munga and Judy Jebet.

According to the National Police Service Commission Chairman, Eliud Kinuthia, the interviews for the twelve will be conducted on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

The commission had limited the applications to holders of a bachelor’s degree, a Kenyan citizen who must have served in the police service for at least 15 years and be of the rank of Assistant Inspector General of police.
