Migori: Transport Paralysed, Businesses Closed Ahead Of Azimio Demos

Protesters participating in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition’s anti-government protests barricaded major roads in Migori town on Thursday morning, paralysing transportation.

The youth piled rocks across the roads and sat on them, making them impassable for vehicles as well as motorbike drivers.

Many businesses were still closed as of 8:30 a.m.

Protests against the government over the high cost of living and other issues Azimio leader Raila has with President William Ruto’s administration were held for the third time on Thursday.

Similar protests were held on Monday and last week, and while the police declared them illegal, Odinga maintains that they are constitutional and will continue until the government responds to the opposition’s demands.
