Ezra Chiloba Takes Over CA Management

Acting Director-General Mercy Wanjau has officially handed over power to the newly elected Ezra Chiloba.

The former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chief formally received the instruments of office to mark the beginning of his term as the media authority boss.

In a memo dated September 28, the authority’s Board of Directors appointed Chiloba as DG, a position he will hold for the next four years.

Following the retirement of the previous Director-General, Francis Wangusi, the authority’s Board chairman, Kembi Gitura, said in a statement that the appointment was the result of a competitive recruitment process.

Chiloba was suspended by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati prior to his departure due to procurement issues at the electoral commission, which he challenged in court.

He handed in his resignation letter to the commission months later.
