Mr. Ezra Kipkemei Kemboi pleaded guilty to murdering Ms. Phyllis Jepleting Jeruto on unknown dates between December 26 and December 31 in Nakuru Town before Justice Theresia Matheka.

Despite being informed by the court of the seriousness of a murder charge, the suspect maintained his plea.

The judge, however, noted that Mr. Kipkemei’s psychiatric report indicated that he had experienced bouts of depression and thus ordered the officer in charge of Nakuru GK prison to ensure he receives counseling while in custody.

The prosecution asked for more time to prepare the facts of the case before the court rendered its sentence.
