Police are pursuing a man after his girlfriend, a 19-year-old university student, was discovered dead at his Nakuru home.
According to DCI detectives, the lifeless body of Phyllis Jepleting, a first-year Maths/Biology student at Karatina University, was discovered inside Ezra Kipkemoi’s house in Naka Estate, Nakuru County, on January 1.
She is the second university student to be discovered dead in her boyfriend’s home, following the death of another learner, Victoria Muthoni Theuri, in Kahawa Wendani, Kiambu County.
Ms. Jepleting vanished shortly before Christmas.
According to Nakuru County DCI boss Anthony Sunguti, the body was discovered after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from Mr. Kipkemoi’s house.
“The locked house smelled like something rotten was inside. “The man who lives there wasn’t there,” a neighbor noted.
They called the cops, who broke the door with the help of welders and neighbors and discovered Ms. Jepleting’s lifeless body on the bed.
