Finland Scholarships Saga: 202 Witnesses To Testify Against Mandago And His Co-Accused

Shock as the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution informs Court that the ODPP is armed with 202 witnesses in an attempt to prove to the court that Uasin Gishu Senator and his co-accused persons were part of the group that saw hundreds of students from Uasin Gishu County lose hundreds of thousands in the fake scholarship saga.

Uasin Gishu senator Jackson Mandago and his two co-accused on Monday, October 2, appeared before a Nakuru Court for the mentioning of the Finland scholarship saga case.

Mandago together with Joshua Leo and Meshach Rono are suspected to have swindled millions of money meant for Uasin Gishu students who were to go for further studies in Finland.

The court gave the defence 60 days to prepare for trial for the case.

According to the ODPP, a total of 202 witnesses will be lined up and are expected to testify against the three.

The defense lawyers had requested for 60 days to prepare for the thank and to peruse documents that were availed by the prosecution.

The three are expected to appear in court on January 15, 2024.

Mandago was the governor of Uasin Gishu when the scholarship programs were pioneered to open doors for college and university students from the county to study in a foreign soil.
