Rift valley regional coordinator Mr. Natembeya has informed the public that they will be served with bread, soda and water at late Former president Daniel Arap Moi’s burial in Kabarak.

He however noted that this will be for the first 30,000.

The state said they are expecting over 60,000 mourners but only 30,000 will get a place to seat.

Large display screens will be erected in other areas to allow mourners to follow the proceeding.

“The event shall be public. We shall have seats for at least 30,000 people who shall get sodas and bread after the service. The venue, however, can accommodate up to 60,000 people,” said Natembeya.

The government will also fuel all public school vehicles to ferry mourners to Kabarak an exercise that will begin at 4.30 am.

Members of the public are advised to be cautious of pickpockets who may attend but Natambeya assured of deployment of plain cloth police to deal with the criminals.

Some roads will be closed and large trucks will not be allowed to move during the day on Wednesday to allow the swift flow of traffic for those attending the burial.

Similar arrangements are said to have been done in Sacho, Moi’s home where mourners will follow proceedings on big screens.
