Five Dead as Speeding Miraa ‘Probox’ Collides With a Motorbike

Atleast five people have reportedly died following a horrific road accident in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, that witnesses attribute to reckless driving by “miraa” probox vehicles.

The tragic incident occurred at the Vi-Makutano junction near Zetic Hospital, when two probox vehicles, allegedly racing and dangerously overtaking at a corner, collided with a boda boda rider.

The high-impact crash resulted in immediate fatalities, with the boda boda rider and one of the probox drivers dying on the spot.

The other three victims, two male drivers and two female passengers, were rushed to Zetic Hospital for emergency treatment. Sadly, they succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival.

The local community has expressed outrage over the accident, which has once again highlighted the dangers posed by speeding vehicles transporting the stimulant, “miraa.”

Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash, and police are urging drivers to adhere to traffic rules to prevent further loss of life on the country’s roads.
