Former Kwale Women Rep Dies In Nairobi

Zainab Chidzuga, the mother of Mwanaisha Chidzuga, a former K24 TV news caster, has died.

Between 2013 and 2017, Zainab was the Kwale Woman Representative. On an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket, she won the seat.

Politicians led by Deputy President William Ruto have praised the former legislator as a dedicated and selfless leader.

“We have lost a selfless and visionary leader who served the people of Kwale with dedication. Mheshimiwa Zainab Chidzuga was progressive, steadfast and focussed. We will remember her as a champion of women empowerment,” Ruto stated.

“My heartfelt condolences go to the family and friends of former Kwale County MP, Hon Zainab Chidzuga. May God the Almighty grant her family strength and fortitude to bear the loss.” Raila tweeted.

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna condoled with the family.

“My condolences to the family and friends of mama Zainab Chidzuga, former Kwale County Woman Representative. Poleni sana,” ODM Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, stated.

“I am saddened to learn of the passing away of former Kwale Women Representative Hon Zainab Chidzuga. Chidzuga was a friendly and dedicated legislator who advocated for women’s empowerment. She served as one of the pioneer Women Reps under our new constitutional dispensation.” ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi stated.
