Chief Justice Martha Koome’s latest remarks have led to mixed reactions among Kenyans.
The chief justice who has been on the receiving end lately, was quoted on November 12th, 2024, where she claimed that she faces criticism because of her gender.
“The criticism I get is because of my gender. It is total mysogyny. It is total chauvinism.” Chief Justice Martha Koome was quoted saying.
While reactions to the quote by Chief Justice Martha Koome, seasoned lawyer, Ahmednasir Abdullahi rubbished Koome’s statement claiming that she faces criticism because of her incompetence.
“RUBBISH! We are critical of you, not because of your gender. We are critical of you because you are incompetent. We are critical of you because you were unqualified for the job and handpicked by the Uhuru regime to do its bidding.” Lawyer Ahmednasir said.
The post on X by Ahmednasir Abdullahi attracted the attention of former Law Society of Kenya President, Nelson Havi. Havi quoted Abdullahi’s post on X that had CJ Martha Koome’s quote and simply said that the Chief Justice is becoming an idiot.
“She has now become an idiot!” Nelson Havi said.
