Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko Has A Case To Answer, Court Rules

Milimani Anti-Corruption Court has ruled that the former Nairobi County Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko has a case to answer in his fraud case.

The Court ruled that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) tendered sufficient evidence to warrant the former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and two other co-accused persons to be put in their defence.

Now the former governor alongside Anthony Otieno Ombok and ROG Security Limited are required to defend themselves in relation to Ksh. 20M alleged fraud from a supplier in order to facilitate payments for work done at the Nairobi County when he was the governor.

The ruling by Hon. C.N Ondieki follows a successful appeal by the DPP on 22nd December 2024.

The Defence hearing will commence on 15th May 2025.
