Former Sharks Player To Sue For Wrongful Dismissal

Cronulla fired Dugan last year after he was charged with violating a New South Wales public health order during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Josh Dugan, an ex-NRL player, will consider suing the Sharks for wrongful dismissal.

Cronulla fired Dugan last year after he was charged with violating a New South Wales public health order during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The former Blues and Kangaroos winger was stopped driving through Lithgow in the Blue Mountains, while Sydney residents were only allowed to travel five kilometers from their homes.

On August 31, solicitor Paul McGirr argued in Lithgow Court that his client’s case was flawed because he was unaware of the Covid protocols at the time.

The case is still in court, with a decision expected on December 2, 2022.

According to McGirr, Dugan’s Sharks contract was then wrongfully terminated on September 10, 2022
