Former chair of the university lecturers’ union, Muga K’Olale has died.
K’Olale, who chaired the Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu) until his resignation in July 2021, died on Saturday evening at Matata Nursing Home in Oyugis town, Homa Bay County.
According to hospital administration, he was admitted on March 21.
K’Olale resigned from Uasu after being co-opted into the union, which was challenged in court by officials from Uasu’s Egerton University chapter.
Grace Nyongesa, a Nakuru lawyer and Kisii University law lecturer, succeeded him as Uasu’s first female chair.
