Gen. Muhoozi: I Will Send Uganda Commandos To Protect Uhuru

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, has made the sensational claim that he will dispatch Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to protect retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a Saturday tweet, the divisive General declared, “We will beat those hooligans to a pulp.”

General Kainerugaba’s tweet came after the invasion of Kenyatta’s land along the Eastern bypass on March 27, 2023.

In 2022, shortly after Kenya’s August elections, the General threatened to lead his troops to capture Nairobi, prompting his father to personally apologize to President William Ruto, averting a serious diplomatic row.

Museveni defended his only son as a “very good general” after promoting him to the rank despite removing him from command of Uganda’s land forces.

President Museveni has previously tried to rein in his rambunctious only son by telling him to stay off Twitter when discussing state matters and to stick to topics such as sports.

However, a defiant Kainerugaba has continued to post on a variety of issues, tweeting previously: “I am an adult and NO ONE will ban me from anything!”

General Kainerugaba has since declared his intention to run for president in 2026 and succeed his father. He made the announcement in a now-deleted tweet.
