Four more suspects arrested in Sh94.9 million Wells Fargo Heist

The four are Joel Oyuchi Mweseli, Harrison Mugendi Njeru, Caleb Ouma Okinyi, and Ronald Ouma Oluu.

Detectives have arrested four Wells Fargo employees in connection with the theft of Sh94 million from a Quickmart supermarket a few weeks ago.

In a statement on November 25, 2023, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the suspects were arrested after a thorough analysis of forensic evidence.

“Detectives on the trail of suspects in the theft of over Sh94.9 million from Wells Fargo staff on November 6, 2023, have arrested four more suspected accomplices, all employees of the courier and security company,” the statement said.

The four are Joel Oyuchi Mweseli, Harrison Mugendi Njeru, Caleb Ouma Okinyi, and Ronald Ouma Oluu.

Police said the four suspects would remain in custody for the rest of the weekend.

Police added that the four suspects are believed to have conspired with the two main suspects (Daniel Mugetha and Anthony Nduiki) who are still at large.

“Today’s arrest brings to eight the total number of suspects arrested so far in the daring robbery, following the arrest of four others a few days ago and the recovery of over Sh9 million in a jerrycan at a house in Roysambu,” police said.

Police said investigations were ongoing to track down the remaining suspects.

The suspects are being held at Capitol Hill Police Station pending arraignment at the Milimani Magistrate’s Court on November 27, 2023.

Currently, an intelligence team, led by officers from Capitol Hill Police Station is pursuing other suspects with an aim to recover the remaining cash.
