US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman and Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy Eliud Owalo attended the third iteration of the Nation Digital Summit in Mombasa.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution, as correctly named by CS Owalo, is a digital technological migration that the world community is undergoing.

In this regard, he pointed out that the Kenya National Digital Masterplan, which has five pillars and serves as the primary enabler of Kenya’s development priorities, is now being implemented by the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy.

The five pillars were described in more detail by the CS, who said they were comprised of digital infrastructure, digital services and data management, digital skills, digital entrepreneurship, and effective alignment to policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks.

According to CS Owalo’s conclusion, Kenya is firmly a part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution thanks to all these tools and policies, which have put the nation on the world’s digital superhighway as the next platform for productivity and competitiveness in the international arena.
