DCI Issues Fresh Summons Against Dr. Matiang’i

Former CS Fred Matiangi has been summoned by the DCI to answer questions over his purported house raid.

The summons was delivered on his lawyer Danstan Omari, who protested, this afternoon in the Milimani Law Court.

Around 1.15 p.m., an officer named Mishack served the summons issued by Senior Superintendent Michael Sang.

Despite receiving the summons, Omari signed the summons that he was served in court under protest.

Danstan Omari, an ex-CS matiang’i lawyer, acknowledged that he was issued with the summons despite protesting.

Omari alleges that the stated police went to the CS residence to serve but could not locate him and after reaching out to Matiang’i, he ordered them to go serve his lawyer Omari.

The officers went to Milimani Law Courts to serve Omari who says the reason he has protested the summons is because of the timing.

“I was being served at 1.15 PM and they require the CS to appear at 9 AM considering I have court matters and I have to take instructions from my client on his itinerary its short notice” Omari says.

Omari, on the other hand, has stated that the CS is willing and ready to appear before the DCI, but that this will be contingent on his lawyers’ schedules.

After obtaining directions from his client, Omari said the legal team will give a full statement on whether they will appear tomorrow or request additional time from the police.
