Fridah Kamuyu, a woman who perished along with her male friend in a dam in Juja, Kiambu County, has been laid to rest.

The car that Kamuyu, 23, and Titus Kiiru, a 39-year-old Kiambu businessman, were in crashed into a dam near the Titanic area on January 18.

According to the program for the funeral service, Kamuyu was raised with four siblings and was born in Kagwanja, Mathioya, Murang’a County.

The family reports that Kamuyu enrolled in a study in Hotel Catering and Management after graduating from high school in 2019.

After completing high school, the family says Kamuyu enrolled for a course in Hotel Catering and Management.

On a fateful day, Kamuyu and Kiiru are reported to have been together inside a Nissan X-trail vehicle which they had parked at the edge of the dam.

The car, however, would plunge into the dam under mysterious circumstances at 7 p.m.

Kamuyu, the first person to be rescued from the dam, could not be identified right away because she lacked identifying cards.

Kiiru was identified by his family shortly after the vehicle was recovered from the dam.

Margaret Kiiru, the Kiiru’s wife, had appealed to members of the public to assist her in tracing the family of the lady.
