Safaricom PLC is among the companies listed as top employers in the latest Top Employers Institute report.
According to a Top Institute report released on January 15, these organizations showcase how strategic people practices foster resilience, drive growth, and create long-term impact.
The companies were celebrated for shaping the future of work in Africa.
1. Safaricom PLC

Safaricom is the leading telecommunication company in East Africa, with the purpose of transforming lives.
It has over 5,500 employees working directly for the company and over 500,000 employees that work with the telco indirectly as M-PESA agents, for example.
50% of employees and 32% of senior management working at Safaricom are women.
2. Absa Bank
Absa Bank Kenya is part of Absa Group Limited, an African financial services group that aims to be the pride of the continent.
Absa Group Limited is listed on the JSE in South Africa and is one of Africa’s largest diversified financial services groups, with a presence in 12 countries across the continent and around 42,000 employees.
3 . Britam Kenya
Britam is a leading diversified financial services group, listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
The group has interests across the Eastern and Southern Africa region. The company offers a wide range of financial products and services in Insurance, Asset management, Banking and Property.
Britam has a workforce of 1,001 to 5,000 employees and a total of 5,101 associated members.
4. Coca-Cola Beverages
CCBA is the eighth-largest Coca-Cola-authorized bottler in the world by revenue and the largest on the continent.
It accounts for over 40% of all Coca-Cola ready-to-drink beverages sold in Africa by volume.
With over 17,000 employees in Africa, the CCBA group serves more than 800,000 customers with a host of international and local brands. In Kenya, it has over 5,000 employees.
The CCBA group operates in 14 countries in Africa.
5.BAT Kenya
BAT Kenya is part of the British American Tobacco Group, a leading multi-category consumer goods business operating internationally.
Listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange since 1969, BAT Kenya has a heritage of over 117 years of operation in the country.
It has 397 total employees.
6. DHL
DHL, a division of Deutsche Post DHL Group, is a global logistics leader providing courier, express mail, package delivery, freight, and supply chain services in over 220 countries.
It has a global workforce exceeding 600,000 employees.
7. Huawei Kenya
Founded in 1987, Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices.
They have approximately 208,000 employees, and we operate in over 170 countries and regions, serving more than three billion people around the world.
8 . Pernod Ricard Kenya
Pernod Ricard Kenya is the Kenyan branch of the global spirits giant, responsible for distributing and marketing premium brands like Jameson, Absolut, and Ballantine’s.
Globally, it has 19,000 employees, and 60 are directly hired by the Kenyan company.
9.I&M Bank
I&M Group has a long-standing presence in the Kenyan market across banking, insurance, and real estate.
