A panga-wielding gang mounted a dawn attack in Oria village, on the border of Uriri and Ndhiwa Sub-Counties.
The gang slaughtered 9 cows and seriously injured 11 additional heads of cattle.
The bizarre early-morning incident left eleven residents with estimated damages of Ksh. 850,000, is thought to have occurred between 2.30 am and 5.00 am.
The injuries were so gruesome that some calves were left for dead with intestines protruding from their bellies.
Senior police commanders and investigators visited the area and photographed it in an attempt to figure out what motivated the horrible act and who the perpetrators were.
