Gilbert Kibe Resigns As Communications Authority of Kenya Chairperson

Gilbert Kibe has resigned as the Chairperson of the Board of Communications Authority of Kenya’s (CA).

Kibe announced his resignation in a letter to President William Ruto on Friday, December 2, 2022.

“Due to personal interests that I wish to pursue, I hereby tender my resignation as Chairman of the Board of the Communications Authority of Kenya with effect from December 1, 2022,” part of the letter read.

“I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you (President Ruto) for according me the opportunity to serve in this important and strategic regulatory agency for the last seven months,” it added.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed the outgoing CA Board chairperson for a three-year term on May 13, 2022.

Captain Kibe was the Director-General of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority before joining the Communications Authority of Kenya (KCAA).

He left KCAA in February 2022 after nearly eight years.

Kibe was the CEO of Bahati Ridge Development Limited and Nairobi Flight Training Limited before joining KCAA.

He has worked in the aviation industry for over 30 years.
