The Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage has issued a stern warning to revellers wishing to attend the Safari Rally in Naivasha, Nakuru county. – By Gerald Gekara.
In a lengthy press statement on the status of the event, Amb. Amina Mohammed has urged Kenyans spectating the rally to desist from breaking the set guidelines including rowdy behaviours.
“Rally attendees will be required to access the spectator stages two (2) hours to the start of the races. We urge attendees to adhere to the security protocols governing the event.”
While addressing the elephant in the room, ‘rally parties’, Kenyans have been urged to adhere to Ministry of Health guidelines on clubbing and pubs.
“Entertainment clubs and pubs will be closed at 7pm in line with the existing COVID-19 Protocols. Partying and dancing in the spectator zones and by the roadside will be strictly prohibited.”
Police has urged the public to adhere to the set down guidelines, to avoid accidents and rubbing shoulders with law enforcement agencies.

The event will play a huge role in identifying Kenya’s capacity as a top tourist destination.
It will converge more than 825 million viewers and online games participants on Safari play station and global television viewership.
It is estimated that this event will have a direct injection of approximately 6 Billion Kenya Shillings in the form of foreign currency into the country.
