Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has received Sh.3.8million from the government after complaints of the Sports ministry frustrating national teams.
The Federation led by President Nick Mwendwa accused the Sports PS Ambassador Peter Kaberia of withholding funds meant to support national teams, especially the women’s national team, Harambee starlets.
On Tuesday Mwendwa had expressed his dissatisfaction with the Sports ministry saying that the PS should explain whether there is a problem in funding football especially the ladies teams who have children to feed.
Mwendwa had threatened to withdraw Starlets from the Olympic Qualifiers who are two steps away from reaching the Olympic finals to be held in Tokyo.
He had also threatened to pull out Harambee Stars from the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on a similar ground. Harambee Starlets had eliminated Malawi and Ghana in the previous two qualifying grounds and are set to play Zambia in the third qualification round next week
