Government Releases KSh.3.2 Billion for June 2024 Beneficiaries of Inua Jamii Programme

On Friday, June 28, 2024, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection disbursed KSh. 3.2 billion to beneficiaries registered in the Inua Jamii scheme as a June 2024 payment.

This is in accordance with the order issued by His Excellency President Dr. William Ruto last year to expand the scheme to 2.5 million beneficiaries over the course of several phases.

The first payment will be made on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Payments will be made starting on Wednesday to all of the new beneficiaries who have opened bank accounts.

A total of 570,263 additional beneficiaries have been added by the Ministry. May 2024 payroll had 1,037,733 beneficiaries; by June, that number had increased to 1,607,996.

The Inua Jamii scheme is a government cash transfer effort that helps the most marginalised community members by giving them a stipend to help them better their lives and avoid poverty and hunger.
