In an interview on Monday evening, the ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya indicated he would consider competing for another seat if Raila decides to run for president for the fifth time.
According to the former Chair of the Council of Governors, the ODM leader is a long-time friend to him, and he will not engage in a political battle with him because of his regard for him.
“If my party leader stands, I’d rather go for another post instead of opposing him. We have worked together with Raila since 2005,” Governor Oparanya
The conclusion of the BBI, according to the Kakamega chief, will affect his decision if he decides to run for a position other than the President.
Oparanya also announced that he and his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho sought for the presidential ticket of the ODM party.
