Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has faulted the high Court for scrapping of the minimum sentence of convicts of sexual offence.

According to Ndeti the rulling will lead to increased cases of sexual violence against children as sexual pests will have much liberty.

She’s now appealing to the Attoney General and the DPP  to intervene in order to protect the lives of young children.

Wavinya revealed that sexual violence and exploitation cases against children have been on the rise in the county, she’s appealing to the society to protect children from the mercies of sexual offenders.

She was speaking in Machakos County after  celebrating an early Christmas with over 1,000 children from Machakos County’s Children homes at the Machakos People’s Park.
