From next week, motorists will have to dig deeper into their pockets for fuel. This is after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on Wednesday, October 14, announced new fuel prices across the country.
The newly revised prices came barely a fortnight after the regulatory authority raised the costs of fuel on October 2.
Petrol increased by a value of Ksh 0.72 while diesel decreased by Ksh 2.18 per litre.
“The price of Kerosene remains unchanged since no cargo was discharged at the Port of Mombasa between 10th September 2020 and 9th October 2020 which is the pricing period defined by Legal Notice No. 26 of 2012,” the statement by EPRA revealed.
In Nairobi, kerosene will retail at Ksh 81.37, diesel at Ksh 92.91 while super petrol will cost you Ksh 107.27 per litre.
Mombasa motorists will part with Ksh.104.86 for petrol as Diesel retains at Ksh.90.53. Kerosene will be sold at Ksh. 81.37.
In Nakuru, motorists will pay a slightly higher price for petrol compared to Mombasa at Ksh.106.96. Diesel at Ksh.92.83 and Ksh.83.69 for Kerosene per litre.
According to EPRA, the prices were recalculated after taking into account the weighed average cost of imported refined petroleum products.
