Kenya Chief Justice Martha Koome has instructed that all ongoing hate speech cases be resolved within the next four months.

The Chief Justice, who is also the President of the Supreme Court, directed that all ongoing hate speech cases in their respective stations be identified and that methods be worked out to expedite their settlement with the trial courts.

Hon. Koome required a Progress Report on the execution of the mandate from each court station within three months.

She stated that she will shortly publish 119 names of court officers designated as special magistrates to hear and decide issues connected to election violations under the Election Offenses Act.
