Consumers of the probably the most loved fruit by Kenyans should prepare for highprices of the commodity starting mid this month.
This is due to the move by the Directorate of Horticulture to impose a ban so as to protect the crop from the existing rush by traders seeking to capitalize on high prices of the commodity in the international market.
The Avocado Society of Kenya has also agreed with the move which seeks to close the harvesting of avocados on 15th November to protect the international market from unscrupulous traders who are said to harvest immature crop for sale.
Due to this high prices of the commodity are expected to be a bit high across the country.
