The direct flights from Kenya to the United seem to be benefiting both countries especially in the tourism sector.
According to Tourism Research Institute (TRI) American arrivals to Kenya increased by 8.4% in the first nine months of this year while American visitors increased from 174,316 recorded in September last year to 188,933 recorded over the same period this year.
TRI attributed the growth to direct flights, e-visa process and marketing campaigns.
More growth is expected as its only one year since the Kenya Airways acquired new planes and introduced the 15 hour nonstop flight to New York, US.
