Hojlund To Wear Greenwood’s 11 Jersey

Rasmus Hojlund has been assigned a new squad number at Manchester United, taking over the No.11 jersey from Mason Greenwood.

Following a £72 million ($91 million) transfer to Old Trafford, the highly-rated 20-year-old has become the Red Devils’ most expensive frontman ever.

The hope is that he will be the man to solve long-standing problems in United’s attacking unit.

When he arrived in England, no squad number was assigned to him because he was nursing a knock and Erik ten Hag had more transfer business to complete, but it has now been revealed that he will be taking on 11 after United agreed to sell Greenwood.

Hojlund has been signed as a No.9, but Anthony Martial has remained in that position after missing out on a summer move of his own.

As a result, the latest Denmark international to arrive at Old Trafford, following in the footsteps of countrymen such as Peter Schmeichel and Christian Eriksen, is donning the shirt that Red Devils legend Ryan Giggs once wore with such distinction.
