Following the loss of four youths who died on April 14, 2023, through a fatal road accident at Kombu (Kabati-Kitui Road) which involved a private car and a motorbike, the area MP (Kitui West) Edith Nyenze visited one of the bereaved families.

The four were involved in an accident on their way back home from choir practice at Kalindilo Catholic Church.

The four youths/choir members include; Muema Lwanga, Muvevi Patrick, Mbuvi Kyalo, and Agnes Kyalo.

The legislator paid a visit to Mbuvi Kyalo’s family whose son was first taken to hospital, before meeting his death.

His grandmother, Josephine Mwatha Ibrahim narrated how negligence robbed her of her injured patient.

Turning to the legislator, Ms. Josphine exposed the poor state of the local hospital before she attacked the General hospital, Kitui Level 5.

She claimed that when she arrived at Kauwi Hospital, the doctors were unresponsive, and the only time she saw them active was when they asked her to fuel the ambulance.

On Arrival at the General Hospital, they found themselves in the Emergency center, and for the first time, she saw the word “Emergency” lose its meaning.

Nobody came to their aid, and it took some time for the doctors and nurses to respond, which she described as unprofessional.

Nyenze was gloomy and had his head down all the time as the grandmother frequently lamented about the poor hospital etiquette.

On his part, Nyenze bemoaned the area’s frequent road accidents and stated that she has already spoken with KeNHA about installing speed bumps in the area.

“I learned about the demise of the four choir members at an event at Makueni. I bring my condolences to the family and encourage you to keep the faith, as Mbuvi died while returning from God’s work,” the legislator consoled.
