How Thugs Use ‘Mchele’ Women To Steal Motorbikes In Kiambu

Detectives have destroyed a motorcycle theft ring operating between Kenya and a neighbouring nation where the stolen motorcycles are thought to find a ready market.

This comes after investigations showed the existence of a well-organized criminal group that masterminded the removal of motorcycles in several places around the country before ferrying them to Loitoktok town and sneaking them across the border.

Detectives apprehended Agnes Wambui, who was believed to be the bait used to entice boda boda riders. Wambui, disguised as a pillion passenger, stupefies her victims along the route before vanishing with the motorbikes after the nduthimen lose consciousness.

After extensive investigations, the suspect led officers to her other accomplices, including Daniel Mwaniki and William Nkadanyo alias Saningo. Nkadanyo was apprehended in Loitoktok, where he is thought to have a ready market for stolen motorcycles.

Stolen cell phones were also retrieved from the accused, including one stolen from a motorbike rider who was stunned before losing his bike in Juja, Kiambu County.

Over 30 tablets suspected of containing stupefying substances were also discovered on the suspects, who were discovered to have pending criminal cases in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, and Diani, Kwale County.
